The Barcelona Open is an annual men's tennis tournament that is held in Barcelona, Spain. The tournament is part of the ATP World Tour 500 series and is played on clay courts. 

The Barcelona Open was first held in 1953 and has been held annually since then with the exception of 1958. The tournament is also known as the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell due to sponsorship reasons. 

The tournament has been won by many top players in the sport including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Ilie Nastase, Bjorn Borg, and Mats Wilander among others. Rafael Nadal holds the record for most titles won at the Barcelona Open with 11 wins.

The tournament is held in late April to early May each year and is a popular warm-up event for the clay court season leading up to the French Open. The tournament attracts thousands of spectators each year who come to see some of the world's best tennis players in action.
